Rules of presentation about written communications, and about posters.

All people interested may send their communications, which after being examined by the Scientific Committee, will be given in to the Second European Congress, Sports and Intellectual Disability. Free communications will last about 15 minutes, and will be organized simultaneously in different rooms in the building so-called Transfronterer. After the celebration of the Congress, every communication and poster having been presented to the Congress will be shown in the following Web: www.esportidiscapacitat.org

Hereby you will find the way to present a communication to the Scientific Committee of the Second European Congress, Sports and Intellectual Disability. To be able to give a communication, previously its authors have to send a summary or an abstract to the Scientific Committee to its mail, comunicacions@esportidiscapacitat.org before the 24th of October, 2008, following the rules that are specified next.

Once the summaries or abstracts are received by the Scientific Committee, it will examine them, and declare itself about them. In the case, an abstract is accepted, you have to send the text of publication before the 12st of November, and afterwards it will be included in the Minute Book of the Second European Congress, Sports and Intellectual Disability.

The authors of the communications will have to pay attention to the correct use of the language and so, carefully and compulsory avoid sexism and xenophobia in language. To talk about a specific group of people, you will have to use the words: disabled people or persons, without using the substantive form of the disability in it-self: do not use the words disability or handicapped.

ABSTRACTS: until the 30th of September, 2008

To be able to present a communication, its author has to send a summary or an abstract to the Scientific Committee to its mail, comunicacions@esportidiscapacitat.org before the 30th of September, 2008.

This text given in will have to follow the next requirements about its form, and its content:

LANGUAGE: the official languages of the Second European Congress, Sports and Intellectual Disability, are: Catalan, Spanish, and English. So, the summaries or abstracts will have to be written in any of these specific languages.

TITLE: it will not have more than 100 characters, spaces included, and it will have to show clearly the contents of the presentation. Its letter will be: Times New Roman, size of 12, in bold, and capital. It will have to be written in the upper part of the page, and it will also have to be centred in its line by flush centre.

AUTHOR/S: under the title, and written on the left, it will be shown the surnames, and the initial of the name of the author/s, which will have the following letter: Times New Roman, size of 12, in bold, and capital. Please, also mark the name of the speaker giving the presentation with an asterisk after his/her name. Besides, it will also be included his/her affiliation (institution) in italics. You also have to include here the mail of the author who will be giving the presentation.

SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT: two spaces after the name of the author/s, there will be the text in it-self. It will not be longer than 400 words in Times New Roman, size of 12, spaced: 1.5, and with the text centred in the page by flush centre. There must not be headings nor foots in the page.

TEXT PUBLICATIONS: until the 21st of October, 2008

The texts that may be presented will have to follow the same requirements of the summary or abstract, but also counting on with two added specifications:

CONTENT: it will not be longer than 12 pages (A-4), abstract and bibliography included. The text for publication has to include an introduction, an explanation of the process, and a discussion on the results, and the conclusions.

BIBLIOGRAPHY: the text for publication has to include a bibliography, which has to follow the APA rules on (www.capitalemocional.com/apa.htm)

POSTERS

The available space for a poster presentation will be of 100 centimetres wide per 200 centimetres high.

SIZE: posters that are presented will adjust to B1 size (70 centimetres wide per 100 centimetres high). The orientation may be whether horizontal or vertical.

TITLE: its letter has to be with a size of 72. You have to state in a smaller letter, the authors, and their affiliation (institution).

CONCLUSIONS: the main conclusions about the work have to be stated maximum in a 6 lines space, and you are able to use letters with a size of 16 and 48.
